I would suggest taking a record out from the mixer (most have them in the form of RCA outs) and hooking them directly to the camera.. It sure would be a lot easier to answer if you could tell us what model camera and mixer.. lots of apples and oranges out there THANKS FOR THE UPDATE while the Allen heath does have 1/4" record outs that would be perfect for capturing the sound, your camera model has no inputs.. there's a cheesy way around it.. get an inexpensive headphone amp, 2 1/4" TRS balanced...

You can edit the audio. How much and to what level of detail you will be able to edit what is recorded will vary. Sometimes the audio is so distorted that it may not work at all. The software you choose to edit the audio with will also have an effect on the final output. See what your editor will allow you to manipulate. If that one doesn't cut it you may have to get an app that can handle the audio separately then bring it back in....
